Honour your loan repayment obligations – BoG tells borrowers. The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has called on borrowers to strictly honour their loan repayment obligations and ensure that credit is used for its intended purpose.   The Central Bank emphasizes that responsible borrowing is crucial for the stability and growth of the financial sector. According to the BoG’s May 2025 Economic and Financial Data Summary, the non-performing loans ratio in the banking industry increased slightly to 23.6% in April, up from 23.4% in March, highlighting the need for prudent credit management. Speaking at a sensitisation programme on the Borrowers and Lenders Act for members of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Second Deputy Governor Matilda Asante-Asiedu stressed the importance of timely loan repayments. GES Must Apologize to Parents Over 2025 WASSCE Results – Spokesperson to Education Minister. The spokesperson for Yaw Osei Adutwum, Mr. Yaw Opoku Mensah, has strongly criticized the Ghana Education Service (GES) following its recent press release on the 2025 WASSCE results.  He described the statement as “a shameful political attempt to cover up leadership failure,” insisting that the GES should take responsibility for the poor performance rather than defending results that have left thousands of parents deeply disappointed.  According to Mr. Mensah, interventions that previously strengthened student performance have been abandoned, creating the conditions for the sharp decline, and a clear lack of urgency among GES management has further compromised preparation, leaving students poorly equipped for the examination. University for Development Studies Issues Official Notice on Certificate Errors for 2025 Graduates. The University for Development Studies has officially confirmed that an error has affected the certificates of some members of the 2025 graduating class.  Specifically, the names printed on certain certificates do not correctly correspond with the respective University Identification Numbers of the affected graduands. University Management has acknowledged this unfortunate development and has expressed sincere regret for any inconvenience, stress, or uncertainty the situation may have caused. The University recognises the importance of accurate academic records and assures all graduands that the matter is being treated with the highest level of urgency and seriousness.
