  GES Issues Fresh Directives on PTA Management in Senior High Schools. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced a new set of standardized guidelines to govern the operations of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) across all Senior High Schools.  The directive, issued in a circular dated 29th September 2025 and signed by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of Schools and Instructions Division on behalf of the Acting Director-General, is aimed at strengthening accountability, improving collaboration, and ensuring PTAs effectively support school development. The Service explained that the guidelines were designed to align PTA activities with national education policies and to create a uniform structure for their operations nationwide. TEWU Suspends Nationwide Strike The Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU) has suspended its indefinite nationwide strike, which started on September 19, 2025.   The suspension took effect on October 1 after what the union described as constructive discussions with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) and other employer institutions. In a statement signed by General Secretary, King James Azortibah, TEWU said the talks created a pathway for resolving long-standing demands, particularly the conclusion and signing of new Conditions of Service for members. The union explained that the suspension is not the end of its concerns but a strategic pause to allow further negotiations and implementation of agreed terms. Members across the Ghana Education Service, public and technical universities, the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, and the Ghana Library Authority have been directed to resume work immediately.   KNUST SHS Student in Viral Video Speaks Out, Clarifies Her Age A female student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Senior High School, who was captured in a widely circulated video with an assistant headmaster in a compromising situation, has come forward to clear the air on her age. In an interview with Adom News’ Kwadwo Obeng Mireku, the student stated emphatically that she is 19 years old , not 13 as has been widely reported. “Just tell them I am 19 years old; I was born on July 21, 2006. I’m not 13 years old,” she stressed. Earlier this week, the Ghana Education Service (GES) announced the removal of the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST SHS, Charles Akwasi Aidoo , following the circulation of the viral video.
