Thousands of graduates can now breathe a sigh of relief as the National Service Authority (NSA) has officially released the first batch of postings for the 2025/2026 service year. 

The announcement, made on October 28, 2025, marks a major milestone for tertiary graduates ready to undertake their one-year mandatory service to the nation.

This year’s postings come after weeks of anticipation among final-year students and recent graduates eager to know their assigned service institutions. The release signals the start of a new journey for young professionals who will contribute to national growth while gaining practical experience to prepare them for future employment. Understanding the National Service Scheme.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) was established in 1973 under the National Redemption Council Decree (N.R.C.D. 208) to mobilize Ghanaian citizens aged 18 and above who have completed tertiary education for a compulsory one-year service.

The scheme aims to:

  • Provide skilled manpower to both public and private sectors.

The NSA clarified that the remaining applicants with data mismatches—particularly teachers, nurses, and midwives, will be catered for in subsequent releases.

Important Dates and Next Steps for Service Personnel.

The 2025/2026 national service officially begins on Monday, November 3, 2025. To ensure a smooth process, all posted personnel must complete the registration and validation process as outlined below:

  1. Check Your Posting:
    Visit  http://www.nss.gov.gh/ to confirm your assigned institution.

  2. Print Appointment Letter:
    Download and print your appointment letter. Present it to your place of posting for endorsement by your line manager or supervisor.

  3. Book Appointment for Registration:
    Log into the NSS portal to schedule a date and time for your regional registration and validation.

  4. Complete Validation:
    Attend the regional registration centre with your endorsed appointment letter and Ghana Card for verification.

The validation exercise runs from Wednesday, October 29, 2025, to Friday, November 21, 2025. Early registration is encouraged to avoid last-minute congestion.

NSA Urges Caution Against Scams

The Authority warned all prospective personnel to be wary of scammers and “middlemen” who claim to alter postings for a fee. The NSA emphasized that postings are handled strictly through the official portal and that no individual or organization is authorized to change placements on behalf of applicants.

Additionally, the public is encouraged to remain patient as data verification and matching processes are finalized to ensure transparency and fairness.
