NTC and GES Announce National CPD Training for Teachers on Cyber Security and Data Protection.
The training, scheduled for Friday, 7th November 2025, will focus on Cyber Security and Data Protection, a critical area in today’s digital age.
As part of the arrangements for the exercise, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially declared the day as a National CPD Day. This declaration will provide teachers the opportunity to fully participate in the training without disrupting teaching and learning activities in schools.
In a statement signed by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, on behalf of the Ag. Director-General of GES, Regional Directors have been directed to convey the information to all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education within their jurisdictions. They are also to collaborate with the National CPD facilitators to ensure an efficient and well-coordinated rollout of the programme in every region.
The training aims to empower teachers with essential digital skills and enhance their awareness of cyber safety practices. In a time when education increasingly depends on digital platforms, this initiative seeks to help teachers protect personal and institutional data, prevent cyber threats, and promote responsible use of technology in the classroom.
The NTC continues to emphasize the importance of Continuous Professional Development as a means of improving teacher competence and maintaining professional standards within the education system. The upcoming CPD Day reaffirms the Council’s dedication to providing teachers with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the challenges of a modern, technology-driven educational environment.
