GES to Hold One-Day Orientation Workshop for Newly Recruited Teachers in Savannah Region
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that it will organise a one-day orientation workshop for teachers who have recently been recruited and posted to the Savannah Region.
The programme is aimed at helping new teachers settle into the Service and understand the professional and administrative framework within which they are expected to operate.
According to the official notice, the orientation workshop is scheduled for Monday, 19 January 2026, and will be held at the Savannah Regional Education Directorate Conference Hall in Damongo. All newly recruited teachers posted to schools in the region are expected to attend the programme.
The orientation is intended to familiarise participants with key Ghana Education Service policies, professional standards, and operational procedures that guide teaching and learning in public schools. Teachers will also be taken through their roles and responsibilities, expected conduct, and reporting structures within the Service.
During the workshop, facilitators are expected to provide guidance on administrative processes and practical issues that new teachers may encounter in their first postings. The session will also offer participants the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on matters related to their work and professional development.
The Savannah Regional Education Directorate has urged all affected teachers to make arrangements to be present, stressing that the information to be shared is essential for a smooth and effective start to their teaching careers. Attendance is therefore considered important for all newly appointed teachers in the region.
Further details regarding the reporting time, programme outline, and other logistical arrangements will be communicated to participants through official Ghana Education Service channels ahead of the workshop.
