PRINCOF Announces Early Christmas Break for Colleges of Education.
The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education, Ghana (PRINCOF), has announced a revised schedule for the Christmas break for all public Colleges of Education nationwide.
The break, previously set to begin on December 20th, will now commence from December 12th, reflecting a strategic adjustment to support academic planning and student admissions.
This change is aimed at ensuring that colleges have sufficient time to complete the admission process for applicants awaiting their 2025 WASSCE results. By advancing the break, newly admitted students are afforded the necessary time to make preparations, settle personal arrangements, and report promptly when the academic calendar resumes in January. The revision underscores PRINCOF’s commitment to creating an environment that supports student success and smooth institutional operations.
PRINCOF has called on all principals to take the required steps to ensure an orderly closure of their institutions, while maintaining essential services, administrative functions, and security during the break. This directive ensures that institutional operations continue without disruption, even as the holiday period is observed.
In his statement, Dr. Samuel Addae-Boateng, General Secretary of PRINCOF, emphasized the importance of collaboration and coordination among principals to maintain educational standards and administrative efficiency across all Colleges of Education. He highlighted that such cooperation is critical for safeguarding students’ interests, ensuring the integrity of the admission process, and preparing institutions effectively for the new academic year.
This adjustment reflects PRINCOF’s unwavering dedication to academic excellence, student welfare, and operational preparedness. By implementing this proactive measure, PRINCOF demonstrates its commitment to strengthening the quality of teacher education and supporting a smooth and effective transition into the 2026 academic session. The initiative is a testament to the organization’s focus on meticulous planning and its ongoing efforts to enhance the national education system.
