GES Condemns Assault on Kade SHTS Teacher, Vows Strict Disciplinary Action.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has strongly condemned a shocking incident involving the assault of Mr. Michael Quayson, a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School, by some former students of the institution.
The incident, which occurred on October 5, 2025, was captured on video and circulated widely on social media, sparking nationwide outrage and concern over student misconduct and the safety of educators.
According to a preliminary report obtained by GES management, the attack was allegedly linked to Mr. Quayson’s strict supervision of students during the Christian Religious Studies WASSCE 2025 examination. Disturbingly, the matter was not reported to the school authorities or GES management until the video surfaced online. Following this, GES immediately took charge of the case, launching a thorough investigation to ensure that justice is served.
In a firm statement, GES described the assault as “unacceptable, unlawful, and a direct affront to the dignity of the teaching profession.” Management further stressed that such behavior undermines the fundamental principles of discipline, respect, and integrity that are essential in schools and society at large.
The Service confirmed that the students involved will face the full consequences of their actions under Ghanaian law and GES regulations. Moreover, GES reassured teachers nationwide of its unwavering support in maintaining classroom discipline and protecting the integrity of national examinations.
GES also issued a stern reminder to all students, urging them to respect authority, observe proper conduct, and uphold the values of discipline and civility within and beyond the school environment. The Service reaffirmed its commitment to creating safe and conducive learning spaces for both teachers and students.
