GES Announces Full Schedule and Directives for the 2025 Promotion Examinations for Teachers.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a comprehensive notice detailing the arrangements for the 2025 promotion examinations for teachers as part of its annual promotion cycle.

According to the circular dated 6th December 2025, the written examinations will be conducted on Monday, 29th December 2025, and Tuesday, 30th December 2025, covering all ranks under consideration. On 29th December, teachers seeking promotion to the grades of Assistant Director II (AD II) and Principal Superintendent (PS) will sit for their examinations from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, while the session for Assistant Director I (AD I) and Deputy Director (DD) is scheduled for 30th December, also from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

The Service has directed that all candidates report to their assigned examination centres no later than 8:30 a.m., and must present their original Ghana Card together with any other required documents or materials. GES indicated that a follow-up communication will soon provide details on the specific examination venues, full lists of eligible candidates, and invigilation arrangements to ensure smooth coordination across the regions.

The notice further instructs all Regional Directors of Education to promptly disseminate the information to every school and teacher under their supervision to guarantee adequate preparation and participation. Teacher unions, including GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCT, have also been requested to circulate the information to their members and encourage eligible teachers to take advantage of the opportunity.

The circular, which was copied to the GES Council, the Acting Director-General, all Divisional and Unit Directors at the GES Headquarters, and the various Education Unit Managers, reflects the Service’s commitment to transparent and efficient communication.

The letter was issued and signed by Dr. Munawaru Issahaque (PhD), Acting Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality and Assurance, on behalf of the Acting Director-General. GES expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of all stakeholders and emphasised its expectation of a smooth, credible, and well-administered examination process in December 2025.
