Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers Raises Concerns Over Alleged “Secret” GES Recruitment.
The Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers (2023 Graduates) has issued a strong statement following growing reports of alleged “secret” recruitment of teachers by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
According to the group, several members have shared information suggesting that some individuals may be influencing the recruitment process for personal benefit.
The allegations point to claims that certain figures, including MPs, DCEs, and MCEs, are reportedly securing appointment letters for favoured individuals. The Coalition notes that if these claims are true, they threaten the transparency and fairness expected in GES recruitment.
The group is encouraging anyone with credible information to come forward. It explained that efforts are underway to compile all relevant details, engage stakeholders, and ensure that the concerns of unemployed trained teachers are addressed appropriately.
In a call to action, the Coalition is urging members to inform their parents, guardians, and families to prepare for a major demonstration. This demonstration is intended to highlight their grievances and demand fairness in the recruitment process. The group has stated that they will remain at the Jubilee House until the recruitment process officially begins.
Details regarding the date of the demonstration and upcoming media engagements will be communicated soon.
The Coalition reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the rights and interests of its members and assured supporters that necessary actions will be taken as the situation unfolds.
