NDC Teachers’ Forum Demands Immediate Payment of Outstanding CPD and Digital Allowances.
The Teachers’ Wing of the National Democratic Congress Professionals Forum has expressed deep concern over the continued delay in the payment of teachers’ Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and digital allowances, describing the situation as unacceptable and deeply worrying for members across the country.
In a press statement issued on 26 November 2025, the leadership of the NDC Professionals Forum Teachers’ Wing noted that the two allowances, which form part of the collective agreement between government and teachers, have still not been paid several weeks after they were due. According to the group, the delay has placed unnecessary financial strain on teachers who depend on these funds to support their professional growth and classroom work.
While acknowledging the efforts of the government to improve conditions in the education sector, the forum raised concerns that certain individuals or institutions may be deliberately working to undermine these efforts. The leadership stressed that such actions, if proven, do a disservice to both teachers and the broader education system.
The Teachers’ Wing is therefore calling on the government to ensure the immediate release of all outstanding CPD and digital allowances without any further delay. Beyond payment, the group is also demanding a full investigation to identify those responsible for the non-payment, with clear sanctions for any wrongdoing that may be uncovered.
In a firm caution, the forum stated that it will not remain silent while the welfare of teachers is compromised. It further called on supporters of the National Democratic Congress and education stakeholders to rally behind efforts aimed at securing the prompt release of the delayed allowances.
The statement was issued by Chief Nachinaab Peter Nayninbil, National Coordinator of the NDC Professionals Forum Teachers’ Wing, and copied to media houses for public attention.
