The Assin Fosu community is grappling with grief following the reported suicide of Prince Nkrumah, a young ICT teacher, who allegedly took his own life after a profound romantic disappointment.

According to community accounts, Prince Nkrumah had been emotionally invested in a long-term relationship with a woman he had supported extensively. Reports indicate that he financially sponsored her nursing training and contributed toward her school fees, anticipating a future marriage and lifelong partnership. 

Tragically, the relationship could not be sustained. The woman reportedly informed him that she could no longer continue with the relationship and subsequently ceased all communication, ignoring his calls and messages.

In the weeks leading up to the incident, the teacher reportedly displayed signs of severe psychological distress, including social withdrawal, emotional instability, and noticeable behavioral changes, which were observed by friends, neighbors, and colleagues. 

A note allegedly found at the scene hinted at his personal struggles, though its full contents have not been disclosed publicly. Prince Nkrumah was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through local schools and the wider community, highlighting the urgent need for mental health awareness and psychological support mechanisms for teachers. 

Experts stress that emotional well-being is as critical as professional competence, particularly in high-stress occupations such as teaching ICT, where teachers often balance technical demands with student mentorship responsibilities.
