I’m not 13 years old – KNUST SHS student in fondling video clarifies her age

KNUST SHS Student in Viral Video Speaks Out, Clarifies Her Age

A female student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Senior High School, who was captured in a widely circulated video with an assistant headmaster in a compromising situation, has come forward to clear the air on her age.

In an interview with Adom News’ Kwadwo Obeng Mireku, the student stated emphatically that she is 19 years old, not 13 as has been widely reported.

“Just tell them I am 19 years old; I was born on July 21, 2006. I’m not 13 years old,” she stressed.

Earlier this week, the Ghana Education Service (GES) announced the removal of the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST SHS, Charles Akwasi Aidoo, following the circulation of the viral video.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, in a press release, maintained that the student was 13 years old and called for the arrest of the assistant headmaster. This contradiction has drawn further attention to the ongoing investigations.

The incident has sparked public debate about misconduct in schools, student safety, and institutional accountability. Authorities have assured that the matter is under active investigation.
