GES to Roll Out Nationwide Inspection to Strengthen School Standards for 2025/2026 Academic Year.

GES to Conduct a Nationwide First Term School Inspection Exercise for 2025/2026 Academic Year.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the commencement of its first-term school inspection exercise for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The initiative, undertaken in partnership with the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA), represents a renewed commitment to promoting accountability, high performance, and adherence to educational standards in public schools.

In a circular issued on 7th October 2025, GES indicated that 225 public schools across the country have been selected for the upcoming inspection. The nationwide exercise will take place from Monday, 13th October to Friday, 24th October 2025, with specialized inspection panels deployed to assess key aspects of school management, instructional delivery, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

The inspection is expected to provide valuable insights into the state of teaching and learning in public schools and identify areas that require intervention. By doing so, GES aims to ensure that schools are operating effectively and meeting the benchmarks necessary for improved learner outcomes.

Regional Directors of Education have been directed to relay this information to all Heads of public schools under their jurisdiction and to guarantee full cooperation with the inspection teams. The Service further stressed that the exercise should be treated as urgent and accorded the necessary attention to ensure its success.

The circular, signed by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of Schools and Instructions Division, on behalf of the Acting Director-General, was copied to key officials at the GES Headquarters, including the Chairman of the GES Council.

Through this inspection, the GES reaffirms its dedication to fostering transparency, continuous improvement, and excellence within the country’s educational system.
