The National Service Scheme (NSS) has officially commenced its online registration for the 2025/2026 service year

This marks an important phase for all eligible graduates preparing to fulfill their national service obligations. The management of NSS has streamlined the registration process to ensure convenience, accuracy, and efficiency. 

Prospective personnel are therefore encouraged to read through this guide carefully and follow each step precisely to complete their registration successfully and avoid unnecessary delays or errors.

Step 1: Activate Your NSS PIN Code

To begin your registration, visit the official National Service website at https://www.gnsa.gov.gh

  1. Select “NSS Portal.”
  2. Click on “PIN Code & Enrollment.”
  3. Enter your Index Number and Date of Birth.
  4. Pay an activation fee of GH¢41 through MTN Mobile Money or other available payment channels.
  5. Confirm the payment to successfully activate your PIN code.

Step 2: Configure Your NSS Account

After activating your PIN code, proceed to set up your account.

  • Provide your email address, phone number, and password.
  • Click “Complete Setup.”
    This process officially creates your NSS account.

Step 3: Access Your Profile

Once your payment is confirmed, you will gain access to your NSS profile, signifying the successful activation of your PIN code.

Step 4: Log In to the NSS Portal

Return to the login page and:

  • Enter your email and password.
  • Verify your Ghana Card details as part of the identity confirmation process. 

Step 5: Passport Photo and Face Verification.

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your face verification:

  • Click “New” to take a live passport photo.
  • Ensure that you are neatly dressed and properly groomed, as this photo will appear on your official NSS documents.

Step 6: Fill in Your Details

Provide accurate and up-to-date information in the following sections:

  • Personal Information
  • Employment and Health Details
  • Preferred Regions and Industry Choices
  • Language Proficiency (Local and Foreign)

Step 7: Allowance Allocation

Select your preferred bank and enter your GhanaPay account number for allowance payments and refunds.

  • If you do not have a bank account ready, you may skip this step temporarily and update it later.

Final Step: Review and Submit

Before submitting, carefully review all the details you have entered to ensure accuracy.

  • Click “Submit” once satisfied.
  • You will then have access to your NSS Dashboard, where your unique NSS Number will be displayed.
