Central Gonja District Education Directorate Declares Vacancies for PRO and Headteacher Positions.

The Central Gonja District Education Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has rolled out a new recruitment drive aimed at strengthening leadership and promoting effective communication across schools in the district. 

In a formal notice dated 7th October 2025, the Directorate announced openings for two key positions — Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Headteacher/Headmaster/Headmistress — and called on qualified and dedicated professional teachers to apply.

This announcement reflects the Directorate’s commitment to ensuring that schools within the district are managed by competent leaders who can inspire excellence, foster collaboration, and uphold the values of the Ghana Education Service. By filling these strategic roles, the Directorate seeks to enhance school administration, improve public engagement, and drive continuous educational development in the Central Gonja District.

Available Positions and Requirements

•Public Relations Officer (PRO)

Applicants interested in the PRO position must:

•Be graduate professional teachers.

•Hold a minimum rank of Principal Superintendent or higher.

•Have credible service records within the Ghana Education Service.

•Exhibit commitment, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.

•Possess extensive knowledge in Information Technology (IT).

•Be able to serve at least three (3) years before reaching the compulsory retirement age.

•Headteacher/Headmaster/Headmistress

To qualify for this leadership role, applicants must:

•Be graduate professional teachers on the rank of Principal Superintendent or above.

Have credible service records and demonstrate strong work ethics.

•Possess at least basic IT knowledge (an added advantage).

•Be able to serve a minimum of three (3) years before compulsory retirement.

•Application Process

Interested teachers are required to submit two (2) copies of the following documents:

1. Application letter.

2. Duly completed and signed Personal Record Form.

3. Copy of last promotion letter.

4. Highest professional and academic certificates.

5. Confidential report from the applicant’s immediate supervisor.

All applications should be addressed to the District Director of Education, Central Gonja District, and submitted through the appropriate channels as indicated in the official notice.
