GES Promotion 2024/2025: Application Details for Non-Teaching Staff.

The Ghana Education Service is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2024/2025 promotion cycle for non-teaching staff. 

This significant opportunity allows eligible staff members to advance their careers within the Service. With a focus on recognizing and rewarding hard work and dedication, the GES is committed to supporting the professional growth of its employees. 

The promotion cycle is designed to identify and promote staff who have demonstrated exceptional performance, good conduct, and a commitment to the Service’s mission. Eligible staff are encouraged to apply for these promotions, which will not only enhance their career prospects but also contribute to the overall development of the education sector in Ghana.

1. Who is Eligible to Apply?

Applications are invited from suitably qualified serving Non-Teaching Staff who meet the following conditions:

  • Must have been promoted to current grade in or before 2021.
  • Must have been continuously at post since that promotion (except for approved leave).
  • Must have a satisfactory record of work and good conduct.

Catering Class

  • Chief Domestic Bursar

  • Principal Domestic Bursar

Technical Class

  • Chief Technical Officer
  • Deputy Chief Technical Officer
  • Principal Chief Technical Officer

Librarian Class

  • Chief Librarian
  • Deputy Chief Librarian
  • Principal Librarian

Supply Class

  • Chief Supply Officer
  • Deputy Chief Supply Officer
  • Principal Supply Officer

Laboratory Technician Class

  • Chief Laboratory Technician

3. Guidelines for Applicants with Master’s/PhD Degrees.

Applicants using higher qualifications for “out of turn” promotions should note:

  • The program must be on the approved GES course list.
  • The certificate must not have been obtained before the last promotion.
  • The degree must have been obtained in or before 2022.

4. Step-by-Step Application Process

Failure to comply with the application procedure may lead to disqualification.

  1. Complete the online application form on the official portal.
  2. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph.
  3. Attach the following documents:
    • Last promotion or appointment letter to current grade.
    • Master’s or Doctorate certificate (only if applying with a higher degree).
  4. Ensure all files are PDF format (except photo) and clearly readable.
  5. Submit the completed form on or before 10th October, 2025.

2025 Salary Adjustment Announced for Public Service Institutions on the Single Spine Structure The Government of Ghana has approved a 10% across-the-board salary increase for all public sector institutions under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).  This follows the successful conclusion of negotiations on the 2025 base pay, as confirmed in a recent communication from the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.
