Nursing Trainee Admission Fees Slashed by 50% for 2025/2026.

The Ministry of Health has officially announced a significant reduction in admission fees for students entering Nursing and Allied Health Training Institutions beginning the 2025/2026 academic year, with all first-year students set to benefit from a 50% cut in their fees. 

This intervention, which falls under the newly introduced “No-Fee-Stress” Policy, is part of Government’s broader commitment to reduce the financial challenges faced by parents and tertiary students across the country. 

By absorbing half of the approved fees, Government aims to ensure that the dream of pursuing professional health training is not hindered by financial barriers, thereby opening doors for many students who might otherwise have been unable to afford such opportunities. 

The policy is not only a direct relief to families but also a strategic step towards building a stronger and more resilient health workforce to serve the nation’s growing needs. 

The Ministry has issued a strict directive to all training institutions to comply with the approved fees and items communicated, stressing that no principal or institution has the authority to charge above the approved amounts or demand payment for items that are already covered under the policy. 

Any attempt to flout these instructions, according to the Ministry, will attract consequences, as Government is determined to protect students and parents from unnecessary financial exploitation. Beyond financial relief, this measure demonstrates the state’s broader vision of promoting equity in education, supporting young people to pursue careers in health, and safeguarding the welfare of future professionals. 

It also highlights the President’s promise to deliver practical solutions that directly impact citizens, especially in areas where financial constraints often limit access to opportunities. 

The Ministry has further directed all heads of Health Training Institutions to begin preparations for admissions into the 2025/2026 academic year in line with the new policy, ensuring that every eligible applicant benefits fully from the reduction. 

With this policy in place, the Ministry of Health has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing affordable education, empowering students, and creating a fair pathway for young people to achieve their aspirations in nursing and allied health professions, ultimately strengthening the health sector and supporting the nation’s development.
