The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has emphasized the importance of collaboration between colleges of education and universities in Ghana.

During the inauguration of new governing councils for ten colleges of education, Minister Iddrisu encouraged these institutions to strengthen partnerships with universities to offer undergraduate degree programs.

This initiative aims to increase accessibility to higher education for teacher trainees, addressing challenges related to distance and limited facilities. By aligning teacher training colleges with universities, the quality of professional preparation for educators can be significantly enhanced.

This collaboration can create flexible academic pathways for the next generation of teachers, enabling them to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their profession.

The collaboration will facilitate the sharing of resources and expertise between colleges of education and universities, leading to improved teaching and learning outcomes. Ultimately, the initiative will contribute to the development of a more effective and efficient education system, which is essential for the country's socio-economic development.
