2025 School Placement Begins September 17 – GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed that the school placement exercise for 2025 will officially commence on Wednesday, September 17. 

The announcement follows the release of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) provisional results.

At a media briefing held in Accra, the Director-General of GES, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, explained that students who successfully secure placement will report to their respective schools between October 18 and October 20, 2025.

To enhance accuracy and limit errors during the placement process, GES has introduced a verification period ahead of the main exercise. From September 1 to September 8, candidates will be able to review their information — including gender, school codes, and programme codes — through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal, www.csses.gov.gh. This verification process will also be supported by an instructional video to guide both students and parents.

Professor Davis further cautioned candidates and guardians against paying individuals who claim they can secure specific placements, stressing that the entire process is transparent and strictly managed through the official portal.

The placement exercise remains a significant step for thousands of students transitioning to senior high school, and GES has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring a smooth and fair process.
