UPSA students allegedly sent home for ‘indecent dressing’
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a number of students at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), were asked to leave campus for reportedly breaching the university’s dress code policy.The action, led by a task force, is believed to be part of ongoing efforts by the institution to reinforce discipline and uphold its standards of decency on campus.
According to eyewitness accounts, students found to be wearing what was considered inappropriate attire were directed to return to their hostels or homes to change before being allowed back into lecture halls.
One student, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed that several individuals were stopped at various lecture venues and instructed to comply with the university’s dress regulations.

As of the time of this report, UPSA’s management had not issued an official statement on the development. However, the move aligns with recent warnings from the administration about stricter enforcement of student conduct policies, particularly regarding acceptable appearance and personal presentation on campus.The university has consistently maintained that professional conduct and appearance form an essential part of its core values, and students are expected to reflect those standards both in and out of the classroom.
