Teacher Trainee Allowances: SLTF CEO Assures Students Payment Is Imminent

Thousands of teacher trainees across the country continue to express concern over the delayed payment of their allowances. These stipends remain a crucial support system for many, covering daily essentials such as meals, transportation, and study materials. The prolonged delay has created anxiety and frustration among students, particularly those in public Colleges of Education who depend on the allowance for their survival on campus.

In a recent public engagement, the Chief Executive Officer of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), Dr. Saajida Shiraz, responded to the concerns with a firm assurance that her office is working tirelessly to resolve the issue.

“We are working around the clock to make sure payment is made. It’s just a matter of time.”

— Dr. Saajida Shiraz, CEO, SLTF

According to Dr. Shiraz, the processes required for disbursement are currently ongoing. She emphasized that her team is in constant communication with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that all necessary administrative and financial arrangements are completed.

Though no specific date has been given for the release of the funds, she urged trainees to remain calm and patient. She added that once the current procedures are finalized, all eligible teacher trainees will receive their full allowances.

This update comes as a form of relief to many who had started questioning the status of the funds and the silence surrounding it. SLTF’s commitment to resolving the matter signals that progress is being made behind the scenes.

The leadership of SLTF further reiterated that no eligible trainee will be left out once payment is approved. Trainees have been advised to stay updated through official communication channels as the process moves toward completion.

As the Students Loan Trust Fund works to conclude arrangements, the hope remains that funds will be disbursed soon, bringing some relief to students across the country who continue to wait in anticipation.
