Planned ECG Maintenance to Affect Multiple Areas on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned and emergency maintenance works scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2025. These activities are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and stability of the country’s electricity supply. As a result, temporary power outages will occur in several communities across multiple regions.
Western Region
Emergency maintenance will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Areas affected include:
Ateiku, Esaman, Jerusalem, Akyempim, Akosombo, Kubekrom, Nsadweso, and Subrie.
Ashanti Region
From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., power interruptions will affect the following locations:
Santase, Odeneho Kwadaso, OWASS, CAC University, Fankyenebra, Patase, Apire, Ampatia, Trede, Bebu, Ampabame No.1, Ampabame No.2, Edwenase, Kwadaso, Ohwumase, Asouyeboah, Tanoso, Takyiman, Denkyembuoso, Yabi, Kromoase, Agric Nema, Akyeremade, Twedie, Foase, Antoakrom, Manso Nkwanta, Nweneso, Trabuom, Boko, Yawkrom, Chichibon, and Manso Adubia.
Volta Region
Maintenance will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Hodzo and its surrounding areas.
Greater Accra Region
Power outages will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the following areas:
Gbawe Top Base, McCarthy Hill, Weija Junction, Tetegu, Glefe, Wiaboman, Mallam Junction, South McCarthy Hill, White Cross, Choice, Sampa Valley, Kingshasha, Oyibi, Amrahia, Lakeside Estates, Community 6, Community 8, and New Legon.
Tema Operational Area (Greater Accra Region)
Maintenance works will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting these towns and communities:
Jericho, Roman Down, Underbridge Market, Kanawu, Adjei Kodjo, Community 25, Bulasu, Ghana Flag, Afienya Zongo, Ahwiam, Magotsonya, Akplabanya, Goi, Kportitse Kope, Songor Salt, and Mataheko.
ECG apologises for the inconvenience and advises customers to take necessary precautions during the maintenance periods. All electrical equipment should be treated as live during the outages. The company reiterates that these works are essential steps toward improving the quality and reliability of power supply nationwide.
