GES Sends Best Wishes to 2025 WASSCE Candidates and Issues Strong Warning Against Exam Malpractice
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has extended its best wishes to all candidates taking part in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).In an official press release dated July 25, 2025, the Service commended students for their commitment, resilience, and hard work throughout their academic journey. It further encouraged candidates to remain focused and confident as they approach the final phase of their secondary education.
GES reminded candidates that true success is built on honesty and diligence. It urged students not to allow themselves to be influenced or lured into any form of examination malpractice. Achievements earned through genuine effort, the statement noted, are not only fulfilling but also sustainable.
As part of efforts to uphold the integrity of the examination process, GES announced that the GES Council has approved a strict disciplinary measure: any teacher, non-teaching staff, invigilator, or supervisor found engaging in malpractice during the exams will face immediate dismissal. Students who are caught in similar acts will also be subjected to severe sanctions.
This directive, GES explained, is aimed at preserving the integrity, credibility, and fairness of the WASSCE. Any form of collusion, leakage of exam questions, or actions that compromise the examination process will attract severe disciplinary consequences, including dismissal from the Service.
All examination personnel have been reminded of the high level of trust and responsibility placed on them. GES urged these individuals to execute their duties with the utmost professionalism and ethical standards. Regional and District Directors have been charged to ensure that this directive is fully communicated and strictly enforced across all examination centres.
GES concluded by calling on all stakeholders to work together to uphold the values and standards of the country’s education system. The Service expressed its pride in the candidates and wished them the very best in the upcoming exams.
