GES Announces Headship Vacancies in Special Education Schools
The Ghana Education Service (GES), through its Special Education Division, has officially opened applications for headship positions in Special Schools across the country.These positions are designated for professionals with a background in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) and Education for the Hearing Impaired (EHI).
This call targets qualified officers within the Service who meet the outlined criteria and demonstrate the capacity to lead specialized institutions with dedication and competence.
Eligibility Criteria
•Applicants must meet the following requirements:
•Be a professional graduate teacher with a satisfactory work history within the Ghana Education Service.
•Hold a rank not lower than Deputy Director.
•Have a professional background in Special Education, specifically in EIDD and EHI.
•Be eligible to serve as a Head for at least three (3) years before reaching the compulsory retirement age.
•Be computer literate, with the ability to use digital tools for school administration.
Application Procedure
Qualified candidates are required to submit:
•An application letter addressed to the Director, Special Education Division.
•A Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing academic qualifications, professional experience, and relevant skills.
•A letter of recommendation from their current Head of Department or Unit.
•Certified copies of supporting documents, including their current promotion letter and academic/professional certificates.
All application documents must reach the Director, Special Education Division, no later than Friday, 25th July 2025.
