GES Confirms No Change in Reopening Date for Double-Track SHS and Technical Schools.
GES Denies Change in Reopening Date for Double-Track SHS and Technical Schools.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially dismissed claims that the reopening date for Double-Track Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical Schools has been revised. In a press statement released on July 21, 2025, GES clarified that the academic calendar remains unchanged and no adjustments have been made to the reopening schedule for the second-year students. The Service emphasized that the dates outlined in the approved 2024/2025 academic calendar are still in effect.
This clarification comes in response to a widely circulated letter suggesting that the reopening date had been shifted from 28th July to 4th August, 2025. GES has described the letter as fake and cautioned stakeholders, parents, teachers, school heads, and students, to disregard the misinformation.
The forged letter, which bore the name of an official from the Schools and Instruction Division, instructed Regional Directors to inform SHS and Technical School heads of a supposed change in schedule. However, GES has refuted the authenticity of that communication and reaffirmed that no such directive was issued by the Service.
GES is urging the public to verify all official updates through its accredited communication channels and to be wary of unverified information circulating online or via social media.
