Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers’ Picketing Date Rescheduled.

Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers' Picketing date Rescheduled.

The Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers has announced a change in the date for its much-anticipated picketing at the Ministry of Education. Initially slated for Friday, the exercise has been moved to Wednesday, July 30, 2025, following strategic consultations.

In an official statement issued by the Coalition’s Public Relations Committee, the decision was based on internal discussions and feedback from members across the country. According to the release, several frontline officials at the Ministry are often unavailable on Fridays, and the Minister himself is usually engaged outside the region on such days. The new date is intended to ensure the availability of key stakeholders and maximize media attention ahead of the event.

The Coalition also confirmed that it will no longer make a courtesy call to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service for clarification. Instead, members will proceed directly to the Ministry of Education as originally planned.

"This new date offers a better opportunity for meaningful engagement with ministry officials and allows the media enough time to highlight the concerns we are raising," the statement noted.

The Coalition is calling on all unemployed trained teachers nationwide, from Accra to Kumasi and beyond, to actively participate. Members are also encouraged to invite friends, siblings, or any sympathizers who are willing to support the cause. The Coalition believes that a strong physical presence is essential to sending a unified message to policymakers and the public.

While the leadership acknowledged that the date change may disrupt earlier arrangements for some, it emphasized that the shift is necessary for the long-term benefit of the group’s advocacy efforts.

As preparations intensify, the Coalition is urging members to remain resolute and united ahead of Wednesday’s demonstration. Further updates will be shared through official platforms.
