TTAG Meets GES Over Posting of 2023 Teacher Graduates from Colleges of Education.

TTAG Engages GES on Posting of 2023 Colleges of Education Graduates

The leadership of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has taken proactive steps to address the lingering concerns surrounding the posting of 2023 graduates from public Colleges of Education.

On June 2, 2025, TTAG engaged the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Frank Kofi Davis, to seek clarity on the status of the postings.

The TTAG delegation, led by President H.E. Razak Soale, was accompanied by key officials from the GES Directorate, including the Head of Legal Affairs, Internal Auditor, Head of Public Relations, and the General Secretary.

During the meeting, three major updates were shared. First, GES has prepared and submitted the full recruitment budget for the 2023 graduate teachers. Secondly, this budget has received approval from both the Ministry of Finance and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education.

Finally, the process is currently awaiting financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance, after which GES will commence recruitment and postings. Prof.

Davis assured the team that recruitment will definitely happen within the year, emphasizing his commitment to a transparent and efficient process—particularly as this will be his first major recruitment exercise.

TTAG expressed appreciation for the Director-General’s openness and proactive response to their concerns and called on all relevant authorities to act with urgency in securing the needed financial clearance.

The Association reiterated its dedication to keeping graduates informed and will continue engaging key stakeholders to ensure timely postings. All 2023 graduates are encouraged to remain calm and confident as efforts are being made to facilitate a smooth recruitment process.

Summary

1. GES has completed and submitted the full recruitment budget for the 2023 cohort of graduate teachers.

2. The budget has been approved by both the Ministry of Finance and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education.

3. Recruitment will begin after financial clearance is finalized by the Ministry of Finance.
