PRINCOF Directs Payment of Feeding Grant Refund to Level 400 Teacher Trainees – 2023/2024 Academic Year.
PRINCOF Orders Refund of Feeding Grant to Level 400 Students for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.
The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has formally directed all public Colleges of Education to refund feeding grants to Level 400 students for the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. This announcement, dated 19th June 2025, comes as a continuation of an earlier directive issued on 27th September 2024, in which a refund of GH₵870 was approved for the first semester.
In this latest communication, PRINCOF has confirmed that each Level 400 student is entitled to a refund of GH₵784.00 for the second semester. Principals are required to ensure that this amount is credited to the accounts of all qualified students. However, PRINCOF has emphasized that no cash payments should be made until the student has settled all outstanding financial obligations. These include fees such as congregation charges, transcript requests, and attestation costs. This approach is intended to ensure financial order while still honouring student entitlements.
The directive, signed by Dr. Samuel Addae-Boateng, General Secretary of PRINCOF, has also been copied to the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and the National President of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG). The leadership of PRINCOF expressed appreciation for the cooperation of college principals and their continued commitment to supporting teacher trainees.
Details of the Refund
•Total number of weeks: 14 weeks
•Feeding grant per day: GH₵8.00
•Total amount: GH₵8.00 × 14 weeks × 7 days = GH₵784.00
The refund forms part of government’s efforts to ease the financial burden on teacher trainees during their final year of study and to maintain transparency in the administration of student support. Teacher trainees and stakeholders are encouraged to stay informed through official channels for future updates.
