NSA Issues Over 132,000 PIN Codes for 2025/2026 National Service Year.
The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced the release of 132,393 PIN codes for tertiary graduates expected to undertake national service in the 2025/2026 deployment year. The release follows data validation conducted in partnership with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
Out of 135,990 submissions received from 122 tertiary institutions nationwide, only those verified to have completed accredited academic programmes were cleared for registration. The exercise excluded 3,597 names from 22 institutions whose accreditation status remains unresolved. Affected individuals have been advised to seek redress through GTEC within a 30-day window.
An additional 908 applicants, including foreign-trained graduates and prior-year defaulters, remain under review. According to the Authority, this group will be processed by June 24, 2025.
Registration Guidelines
Qualified graduates are required to activate their PIN codes using the following payment options:
•GHS 40 at any branch of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB)
•GHS 41 via MTN Mobile Money
Once activated, applicants must complete their registration on the official portal:https://portal.nss.gov.gh/
The registration window closes on July 1, 2025. No extensions will be granted.
Biometric Identification and Location Mapping
To improve the accuracy of deployments and eliminate registration fraud, the NSA has introduced strict identification protocols. All registrants must:
•Complete facial biometric verification using the Ghana Card
•Provide a valid GhanaPost GPS address for location-based posting
These measures are part of an ongoing digital transformation agenda designed to modernize the scheme's operations.
Optional Military Training Initiative
For the first time, the Authority is offering an optional Basic Military Training programme to interested graduates. The six-week initiative is positioned as a preparatory leadership and discipline-building module. Graduates who opt in will undergo training before being deployed to their primary service institutions.
The registration portal provides an option for applicants to confirm their interest during the application process.
Institutional Accountability
The NSA has reiterated that only graduates from GTEC-accredited institutions will be considered for national service placement. Submissions from institutions lacking accreditation, or graduates with incomplete academic records, will not be processed.
All tertiary institutions have been urged to ensure compliance with current regulatory frameworks to avoid future exclusions.
Conclusion
The 2025/2026 PIN code release reflects a decisive shift toward improved compliance, data integrity, and national service accountability. All eligible graduates are urged to complete their registration in line with the outlined directives.
