GES Announces Promotion and Confirmation Application Window for Senior Superintendent I Rank.
The Ghana Education Service (GES), through the Asutifi South District Education Directorate, has formally announced the opening of applications for promotion and confirmation to the rank of Senior Superintendent I.This initiative is aimed at qualified teaching staff who are already serving within the GES and meet the required criteria set out by the Directorate.
According to the official circular issued on 9th June 2025, the application process is strictly for two categories of personnel:
1. Promotion Applicants: Teachers who wish to be promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent I must have already attained the rank of Senior Superintendent II on or before 2021.
2. Confirmation Applicants: Teachers applying for confirmation must have been appointed into the Ghana Education Service on or before 2024.
The GES is encouraging all eligible individuals to act promptly and submit a formal written application to the District Education Directorate. Along with the letter, applicants must attach two copies of each of the following supporting documents:
•Letter of First Appointment
•Last Promotion Letter (if available)
•Letter of Confirmation (if applicable)
•Highest Professional Teaching Certificate
•Recent Payslip
•Memo from the applicant’s Headteacher and the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO)
It is important to emphasize that all applications should be submitted to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Unit of the District Education Directorate no later than Friday, 27th June 2025. Any applications submitted after this deadline will be rejected without consideration.
This announcement, signed by the District Director, James Frimpong-Manso, has already been distributed across all schools in the district. SISO’s and Headteachers have been tasked with ensuring that all qualified personnel under their supervision are made aware of the opportunity and assisted where necessary to apply.
The GES's move to open this promotion and confirmation window forms part of broader efforts to ensure that hardworking and deserving teachers are recognized, retained, and elevated in accordance with the service’s career progression structure.
By encouraging eligible staff to move up the professional ladder, the GES seeks to boost morale and improve instructional delivery in schools.
Teachers are also reminded that joining relevant communication platforms such as the official WhatsApp channels will provide timely updates, resource materials, and guidance on upcoming opportunities within the education sector.
