GES Issues Stern Warning to the Public Over Fake Recruitment and Appointment Scams Circulating Online

GES Issues Stern Warning to the General Public Over Fake Recruitment and Appointment Scams Circulating.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a firm warning to the public in response to an increasing number of fake recruitment adverts and appointment letters being circulated online.

These scams are carefully crafted to appear legitimate and are aimed at misleading individuals who are eager to secure positions within the Service.

These deceptive messages, often disguised as official announcements, falsely claim to offer employment opportunities within the Ghana Education Service. GES wishes to state categorically that it has not started any recruitment exercise. Although the Honourable Minister for Education has announced government’s intention to recruit 50,000 teachers and 10,000 non-teaching staff, the process has not yet commenced.

The Service assures all interested applicants that when recruitment officially begins, credible information will be communicated through GES’s official website and other trusted national media outlets. Any other source should be treated with suspicion.

GES further emphasizes that recruitment into the Service is strictly free of charge. No individual, group, or third party is permitted to collect fees from applicants under the pretext of offering assistance, processing applications, or issuing appointment letters. Any demand for payment or issuance of letters outside GES’s official recruitment structure is fraudulent and should be ignored.

The public is therefore urged to be vigilant and not fall prey to these scams. Anyone who receives such offers or is approached by individuals claiming to facilitate GES employment for a fee should report the matter to the nearest police station or appropriate law enforcement agency.

The Ghana Education Service remains committed to transparency, accountability, and equal opportunity in all its recruitment efforts. GES strongly advises all prospective applicants to rely solely on verified updates from the Service and to refrain from engaging with unauthorized individuals or platforms.
