55,000 Students To Sit For Certificate II Exams June30-July 28
The Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) is set to conduct this year’s Certificate II Examinations from June 30 to July 28, 2025.
Over 55,000 students across the country are scheduled to participate in the nationwide assessment aimed at strengthening Ghana’s technical and vocational education sector. The exams will be held in two phases. The core subjects will be written from June 30 to July 7, followed by a one-week break. Elective subjects will then be taken from July 14 to July 28.
At a press briefing in Accra, Director General of CTVET, Mr. Zakaria Sulemana, disclosed that 55,295 candidates, made up of 40,339 males and 14,956 females, are registered for the exams. He emphasized the importance of the exams in preparing students with practical skills relevant to national development.
Mr. Sulemana cautioned all stakeholders, including candidates, invigilators, and examiners, to refrain from examination malpractice. He warned that anyone caught cheating or engaging in misconduct would face strict penalties, including arrest and disqualification.
To ensure the credibility of the process, he announced the use of test serialisation a method of presenting the same questions in different formats. This system aims to reduce cheating by randomizing the order of questions and answer options.
He added that while candidates may receive identical questions, the arrangement will differ from one script to another.
“These examinations go beyond theory,” he stressed. “They assess real-world skills in areas such as fashion, catering, welding, construction, and electrical engineering.”
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a secure, transparent, and credible examination process as part of its vision to position TVET as a cornerstone of Ghana’s human capital development.
