UEW Opens Admission for 2025/2026 Academic Year

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has officially opened admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year. Prospective students are invited to apply for various academic programmes across different modes of study—Regular, Distance, and Sandwich.

Application Deadlines

•Sandwich – Friday, 29th August 2025

•Mature Applicants – Thursday, 30th October 2025

•Direct Applicants – Friday, 28th November 2025

•Distance (Mature Applicants) – October 2025

•Distance (Direct/Post Diploma Applicants) – December 2025

Entry Requirements

Eligibility for each programme is determined by specific academic and age-related requirements. Below is a summary for each category of applicants:

Undergraduate Applicants

Direct Entry: WASSCE/SSSCE with passes in core subjects and relevant electives

Mature Entry: Must be at least 25 years old by September 30, 2025, with two years of work experience and must pass a mature entrance examination

Postgraduate Applicants

Master’s Degree: A good first degree with at least a Second Class Lower

Ph.D. Degree: A research-based Master’s degree with a CGPA of 3.0 or higher and a minimum grade “B” in thesis/dissertation

International Applicants

•Required to submit certified copies of certificates and transcripts

•Must demonstrate English proficiency (TOEFL score of 100 or IELTS score of 6.5 or better)

Application Fees

Each applicant is expected to pay a non-refundable fee depending on their category. The fees are as follows:

•Ghanaian Undergraduate – GHS 255.00

•Ghanaian Postgraduate – GHS 325.00

•International Applicants – USD 100.00

UEW has made it convenient for applicants to obtain application vouchers. You can purchase a voucher through any of the following means:

Once you have your voucher, the next step is to complete your application online. Follow these steps carefully:

1. Visit the application portal APPLY HERE

2. Enter the serial number and PIN from your voucher

3. Complete the online application form with accurate details

4. Upload the following documents:

•Academic certificates and transcripts

•Passport-sized photograph (red background)

•National ID

•Valid email address and mobile number

5. Submit the application and print a copy for your records
