Nationwide Training and Sensitisation on 2025 School Selection and Placement Guidelines.
The Ghana Education Service (GES), in collaboration with the Free Senior High School (FSHS) Secretariat and the Ghana TVET Service, has announced a comprehensive nationwide training and sensitisation programme aimed at ensuring a smooth 2025 School Selection and Placement exercise. This crucial initiative, scheduled to run from 19th May to 7th June 2025, seeks to equip key education stakeholders with a clear understanding of the updated school selection guidelines and placement procedures. It forms part of broader efforts by the GES to enhance transparency, improve coordination, and ensure that parents, students, and school authorities are well-informed ahead of the placement season.
The training sessions will be conducted across all regions and districts, targeting officers directly involved in the school placement process. According to a directive issued by the Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, Mr. Prince Charles Agyemang-Duah, all Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education are expected to release the appropriate officers to participate fully in the programme.
A detailed itinerary for the sessions has been attached to the official communication for the attention and guidance of all relevant parties.
Why This Matters
The School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) plays a pivotal role in the educational journey of thousands of students each year. Ensuring that those managing the process are properly trained not only reduces errors but also promotes fairness and accountability in school placements. With the growing number of students transitioning from junior high to senior high and TVET institutions, this training has come at a critical time.
The GES urges full cooperation from all stakeholders to make this sensitisation exercise a success.
Stay Updated
Teachers, parents, and education officers are encouraged to stay informed by following official updates from the GES and participating actively in the sensitisation activities taking place in their districts.
This initiative underscores the commitment of the Ministry of Education and its agencies to improving access and equity in second-cycle education in the country.
