Ghana School Feeding Programme Terminates All Caterer Contracts Nationwide

Mass Termination of Ghana School Feeding Programme Caterers

The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) is undergoing a significant transformation, with the immediate termination of contracts for all caterers nationwide.

This sweeping move is part of a comprehensive restructuring effort aimed at enhancing programme efficiency and management. Consequently, caterers previously engaged under the programme will not provide meals during the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year.

This directive was officially communicated in a letter dated May 2, 2025, and signed by Hajia Fati Forgor, the National Coordinator of the GSFP.

According to the notice, no caterer currently on the programme will be allowed to provide meals during the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year. This move is part of a larger restructuring effort being undertaken by the GSFP Secretariat, which aims to revamp the entire programme.

Key Highlights from the Notice.

•All caterer contracts under the GSFP have been officially terminated.

•No caterer should prepare or supply food for the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year.

•Outstanding payments for the second term will be settled in due course.

•A new recruitment process for caterers will soon be announced.

The termination comes amidst growing concerns over the efficiency and management of the programme, which was designed to provide one hot meal each school day to pupils in public basic schools.

While the restructuring aims to improve service delivery, it leaves many caterers uncertain about their future involvement and livelihood.

Stakeholders, especially caterers and school administrators, are advised to stay alert for further updates regarding the new recruitment procedures and payment timelines.

For now, the GSFP Secretariat assures the public of its commitment to restructuring the programme for better efficiency and transparency in the near future.
