Ghana National Service Authority Issues Stern Warning to National Service Personnel on Government Payroll Must Report Immediately or Face Sanctions

National Service Personnel in Full-Time Employment Must Report or Face Sanctions — GNSA Warning.

The Ghana National Service Authority (GNSA) has issued a strong warning to all National Service Personnel who are currently serving but also hold full-time jobs, especially within the public sector

The Authority is urging these individuals to immediately visit any Regional Office or the Head Office in Accra to regularize their status.

This action follows a recent data matching exercise conducted with the Controller and Accountant General’s Department. The exercise involved verifying the enrolment lists for various service categories to identify those who may be unlawfully receiving dual income ,both a salary from full-time employment and a national service allowance , which violates the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1|19).

Key Details

•Deadline for voluntary compliance: Friday, 23rd May 2025

•Consequences for non-compliance:

•Immediate removal from the national service payroll

•Referral for prosecution

•Permanent disqualification from future public service opportunities

The GNSA is committed to upholding integrity, accountability, and transparency in the administration of national service. They encourage all affected personnel to take advantage of this compliance window to correct their records and avoid harsh penalties.

For inquiries or to report, personnel should visit the nearest GNSA Regional Office or the Headquarters at 46 Patrice Lumumba Road, Airport Residential Area, Accra.

This announcement reminds all national service members of the importance of abiding by the law and maintaining ethical standards in public service.
