GES Rolls Out Early Stakeholder Training for 2025 BECE School Placement
GES Begins Nationwide Training on 2025 School Selection and Placement Process.
The Ghana Education Service (GES), in collaboration with the CSSPS and Free SHS Secretariats, has commenced a national training and sensitisation programme aimed at preparing stakeholders for the 2025 School Selection and Placement process.
This initiative is designed to promote fairness, clarity, and public understanding of the placement system, especially for candidates sitting the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Participants in the training include Regional and District Education Directors, Guidance and Counselling Officers, ICT Coordinators, Unit Heads, and Public Relations Officers. The objective is to empower them with the right information and tools to train teachers and guide parents and students on the newly reviewed school selection guidelines.
Key aspects of the training focus on helping students make informed choices using the five-category system (Categories A to E), understanding the self-placement platform, and resolving placement issues. It also highlights the importance of data accuracy and timely submission of school choices.
GES explained that starting the sensitisation early is essential to avoid errors and confusion during the placement period. With a large number of students expected to enter SHS, SHTS, and TVET institutions in 2025, informed decision-making has become even more crucial.
The Service is encouraging all stakeholders, parents, teachers, and students, to take active part in the sensitisation activities taking place across various districts and schools.
This training effort is part of GES’s broader commitment to ensuring a transparent, inclusive, and efficient school placement process, and reflects its ongoing investment in improving educational outcomes through technology and collaboration.
