Prez Dramani Mahama Releases Second Batch of District Chief Executive Nominees

Second Batch of District Chief Executive Nominees Released by President John Dramani Mahama.



President John Dramani Mahama has released the second batch of nominees for District Chief Executive (DCE) roles nationwide, pending approval from the respective District Assemblies.

The nominations, carried out in line with the Constitution's Article 243(1) and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), are now subject to a vote by the District Assemblies.

A formal statement from the Office of the President, dated April 4, 2025, presents the list of nominees. 

This announcement was followed by a release from the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, confirming the nominations and directing media attention to the attached candidate list.

The final confirmation of these appointments lies in the hands of the District Assemblies, who will vote to either approve or reject the President's nominees.
