NSA Boss Confirms Upcoming Increase in NSS Allowance
NSS Allowance Expected to Rise, NSA Boss Confirms.
Felix Gyamfi, the Director-General of the Ghana National Service Authority (NSA), has made a significant announcement that brings relief to National Service Personnel.
He has revealed plans to increase their allowance, a move that acknowledges the financial challenges personnel face due to the country's rising inflation and increasing living costs. This decision demonstrates the NSA's commitment to supporting the welfare of National Service Personnel.
In a recent interview with 3FM Sunrise, Gyamfi acknowledged the inadequacy of the current allowance of GHC 715, stating that it is insufficient to support the personnel's needs.
He assured that discussions are underway with the government to adjust the stipend to a more suitable amount, with the goal of implementing a change that will help support Service Personnel during these challenging economic times.
Gyamfi also emphasized the importance of prioritizing the well-being of Service Personnel, particularly regarding their accommodation.
He urged District Managers to secure proper accommodations for the personnel in their areas, highlighting the need for a supportive environment that enables personnel to focus on their national service obligations.
Furthermore, Gyamfi revealed plans to introduce short military training for National Service Personnel, with the aim of commencing this initiative later this year.
This move is expected to enhance the personnel's skills and preparedness, while also contributing to the country's national security efforts.
It's worth noting that Gyamfi's appointment as the Director-General of the NSA was announced in January 2025, and he has been working to address the concerns of National Service Personnel.
The planned increase in allowance and introduction of military training are testaments to his commitment to supporting the personnel and enhancing the national service experience.
