National Service Scheme Releases PIN Codes for Nurses and Midwives for the 2025/2026 Service Year

National Service Secretariate Releases PIN Codes for 2025/2026 Service Year.

The National Service Secretariate (NSS) has officially released PIN codes for different categories of prospective national service personnel ahead of the 2025/2026 service year.

This announcement marks the beginning of the enrolment process for thousands of eligible individuals expected to fulfill their national service obligations across the country.

On April 17, 2025, the NSS issued PIN codes to a total of 18,011 nurses and midwives who have completed their training and are due for national service.

These individuals are required to log on to the NSS website, enter their Student ID and date of birth to retrieve their PIN codes. After retrieving the codes, they must activate the enrolment by paying a registration fee of GH¢40.00 at any ADB Bank branch or GH¢41.00 via MTN Mobile Money.

The registration period for this category runs from April 17 to April 23, 2025.

Prior to this, on February 14, 2025, PIN codes were released for 9,082 trained teachers drawn from 24 Colleges of Education.

This move followed consultations with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), which revealed that out of the 36 Colleges of Education, only 14 currently have valid accreditation.

The remaining 22 institutions were found to have expired accreditation status, raising concerns about the accreditation system within teacher training institutions.

For the 2024/2025 service year, the NSS had earlier released PIN codes on June 19, 2024, for 133,476 final-year students from accredited tertiary institutions, including students who studied abroad, private applicants, and defaulters.

These individuals were also required to access their PIN codes through the NSS portal using their Index Numbers and Dates of Birth, followed by payment of a GH¢40.00 registration fee at ADB or GH¢41.00 via MTN Mobile Money.

To check and retrieve a PIN code, applicants must visit the official NSS Pincode Checker portal at https://portal.nss.gov.gh/check-pin, input their Index Number or Student ID along with their Date of Birth, and follow the prompts to view and activate the code.

The NSS urges all eligible applicants to complete their registration within the stipulated timelines to avoid delays in deployment.
