Government Settles 31-Day Arrears for School Feeding Caterers (2024/2025).

The Ghanaian government has cleared 31 days of outstanding payments to caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) for the first term of the 2024/2025 academic year. 

This significant development aims to support the country's education sector and ensure students receive consistent meals.

The payment, facilitated by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), showcases the government's commitment to the program's success. 

The GSFP Secretariat has expressed its sincere gratitude to the government for the timely release of funds, acknowledging the impact this action will have on sustaining the morale and services of caterers across the country.

Efforts are underway to revamp the GSFP, focusing on decentralization, efficiency, and improved meal quality. 

This restructuring, supervised by the MoGCSP, aims to enhance the overall effectiveness of the program and ensure that students receive the best possible meals.

The government acknowledges the importance of timely payments to caterers, addressing a key challenge faced by the program. 

By settling the outstanding arrears, the government is demonstrating its commitment to supporting the caterers who play a vital role in providing meals to students.

The GSFP Secretariat has also extended its appreciation to donor partners for their unwavering support and collaboration. 

Their contributions have been vital in keeping the program running and aligned with its goals of reducing hunger, promoting school attendance, and improving learning outcomes in public basic schools.
