Will First-Year Teacher Trainees Receive Allowances? – FIND OUT HERE

WHATSAPP CHANNEL

In response to numerous inquiries from first-year trainees across various colleges of education, we aim to provide definitive clarification regarding the payment of allowances for the 2024/2025 academic year.

The government allocation for trainee allowances in the 2025 budget encompasses all levels, from Level 100 to Level 400, as well as those who recently completed their studies and are owed allowances for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Consequently, first-year teacher trainees in public colleges of education are eligible to receive their allowances for the 2024/2025 academic year.

However, it is essential to note that these first-year trainees may not be included in the initial disbursement, scheduled to take place shortly. This exclusion is due to the pending submission of their data and details to the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) by their respective coordinators for allowance processing.

According to available information, the forthcoming disbursement will primarily focus on settling arrears for the 2023/2024 academic year, catering to continuing students and recent graduates.

The SLTF has instructed allowance liaison officers to compile data on first-year students and continuing students who have not received allowances for previous years, ensuring their information is submitted promptly.

First-year trainees and affected continuing students are advised to cooperate with their allowance coordinators to facilitate the timely submission of their information to the SLTF.

We will continue to monitor developments and provide updates on this matter. We encourage readers to follow us for prompt notifications.
