Finance Minister Ato Forson has expressed confidence in Ghana’s ability to reset its economy, emphasizing that financial discipline is crucial to achieving this objective.
Addressing participants at the opening of the National Economic Dialogue in Accra on Monday, March 3, Mr. Forson highlighted the need for responsible economic policies.
He remarked, “We can reset our economy—but it requires discipline and a clear understanding that the short-term gains we pursue today will have lasting consequences on our nation.”
The National Economic Dialogue is an initiative by the government to engage stakeholders in discussions aimed at addressing economic challenges such as inflation and rising debt.
Mr. Forson acknowledged the country’s economic struggles but maintained that a united commitment to fiscal discipline could pave the way for an economic reset and long-term growth.
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to implementing reforms focused on stabilizing the economy. These measures prioritize addressing fiscal imbalances, reducing public debt, and improving revenue generation.
