WAEC Announces Provisional Results for 12,452 Private WASSCE Candidates
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results for 12,452 private candidates who took part in the 2025 first series of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).Candidates can access their results on the WAEC online portal by entering their examination number and relevant credentials.
The total number of candidates included 5,269 males and 7,998 females, with 738 candidates absent from the examination.
During both the exam and subsequent marking, WAEC identified several malpractice incidents. Consequently, the results of 34 candidates have been withheld for specific subjects, while the entire results of 43 others have been temporarily suspended, pending investigations.
The Council also issued a warning to the public regarding fraudsters who offer to "upgrade" candidates’ results for a fee. WAEC assured the public that its results database is secure and that all results are verifiable.
"Candidates should be cautious of scammers claiming to improve results for payment. WAEC’s database is well-protected, and institutions wishing to verify results can do so directly on WAEC’s official website, www.waecgh.org," the statement concluded.
