WAEC complies with court order, releases all 2024 WASSCE results

WAEC Releases All Withheld 2024 WASSCE Results Following Court Order.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released all previously withheld results from the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

This decision comes after a court ruling compelled the Council to make the results available, ending weeks of uncertainty for the affected candidates.

Earlier, WAEC had withheld over 10,000 results due to suspected examination malpractice but assured the public that the results would be released by February 28. Pressure from the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), which had threatened nationwide protests if the results remained undisclosed, further intensified the situation.

Speaking to Citi FM, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, confirmed that all results— including those involved in legal disputes— had been released. He emphasized that the Council had fulfilled its promise to maintain transparency and fairness.

“As we assured the public, all withheld results were uploaded by the end of February 28. We have fully complied with the court's directive, and there are no outstanding results from the 2024 WASSCE,” Mr. Kapi stated.

He also acknowledged that while the results were published on a Friday, WAEC expects candidates to reach out in the following week with any concerns or inquiries. However, he affirmed that the released results accurately reflect the candidates' performance.

For candidates wishing to access their WASSCE results, WAEC has provided a shortcode: dial *389223#.
