Haruna Iddrisu Supports Navrongo SHS with Computers to Enhance ICT Education
Haruna Iddrisu Donates Computers to Navrongo SHS to Enhance ICT Education
Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, has strengthened ICT education at his alma mater, Navrongo Senior High School (SHS) in the Upper East Region, by donating ten desktop computers. This gesture fulfills a commitment he made during the school’s Speech and Prize-Giving Day last year.
During the ceremony, the school’s headmistress, Mercy Babachuweh, highlighted the pressing need for ICT resources. She explained that the limited number of computers was hindering effective teaching and learning.
Despite the school’s dedication to improving ICT education, inadequate equipment remained a major challenge. She, therefore, called on the government, private institutions, and former students to assist in addressing these shortcomings.
In response to her appeal, Haruna Iddrisu not only pledged to provide computers but also contributed GHC 100,000 to further support the school’s development.
At a separate presentation event, Evans Abaluk, who represented the Minister, reaffirmed Haruna Iddrisu’s commitment to the school’s growth. He urged the administration to ensure the computers are well-maintained and utilized effectively to serve both present and future students.
Expressing her gratitude, Mercy Babachuweh commended the Minister for his swift intervention. She assured him that the computers would be used responsibly to improve ICT education and enhance the academic experience.
Joel Avoka, the Senior Boys’ Prefect, also thanked Haruna Iddrisu for the donation. He appealed for additional resources such as internet routers and projectors to complement the computers and further enrich classroom learning.
