Government declares March 31 and April 1 as public holidays

Declaration of Additional Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 in Ghana

The Ministry of the Interior has announced the official dates for the 2025 Eid-ul-Fitr public holiday in Ghana. According to the press release, Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on either Sunday, March 30, 2025, or Monday, March 31, 2025, as a statutory public holiday.

Given that March 30, 2025, falls on a Sunday, the President of the Republic of Ghana, through an Executive Instrument (E.I.), has declared Monday, March 31, 2025, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as additional public holidays.

This decision aligns with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601) and is intended to ensure the full observance of the celebration nationwide.

Ghanaians are, therefore, urged to take note of these declared holidays and observe them accordingly.
