Ghana Education Service Announces Holiday for Schools on Friday, 7th March 2025.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially declared Friday, 7th March 2025, a holiday for all school children in Ghana. This decision comes as a well-deserved break for students after their rigorous preparations for the Independence Anniversary activities.


According to the GES, this holiday is a token of appreciation for the students' hard work and participation in the Independence Day celebrations. It's worth noting that in previous years, the GES has also declared holidays for schools around the Independence Day celebrations ¹ ².

•Resumption Date: Monday, 10th March 2025

•Reason for Holiday: To provide students with a well-deserved break after their preparations for the Independence Anniversary activities

Government Approves 2025 Salary Increase for Public Sector Workers on the Single Spine Salary Structure

2025 Salary Adjustment Announced for Public Service Institutions on the Single Spine Structure The Government of Ghana has approved a 10% across-the-board salary increase for all public sector institutions under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).  This follows the successful conclusion of negotiations on the 2025 base pay, as confirmed in a recent communication from the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.
