GES Adjusts Reopening Schedule for Single Track Senior High Schools

Ghana Education Service Announces Revised Reopening Date for Single Track Senior High Schools.

In a significant update to the academic calendar, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has formally announced a revised reopening date for Single Track Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools.

This strategic adjustment aims to ensure a seamless continuation of the academic year, and stakeholders are advised to take note of the new commencement date

In a formal communication dated March 27, 2025, the GES instructed Regional Directors of Education to disseminate the revised reopening date to parents, guardians, and students.

The directive underscores the imperative of thorough preparation and readiness among educational stakeholders prior to the revised commencement date.

This development pertains to all Single Track SHS and SHTS institutions nationwide, necessitating a coordinated effort to adapt to the revised schedule.

As the GES continues to provide updates and guidelines, stakeholders are advised to remain vigilant and responsive to any additional information that may facilitate a seamless transition.

Prior Academic Calendar Revisions.

The original academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic year had scheduled Single Track SHS students to resume classes on October 30, 2024.

However, the GES has now confirmed that the revised reopening date of April 23, 2025, will mark the commencement of the second semester for the 2024-2025 academic year.

This revised date supersedes the initial schedule, and stakeholders are advised to adjust their plans accordingly to ensure a smooth transition into the new semester.

In light of this revision, students, parents, and educators are encouraged to adjust their plans accordingly, ensuring a smooth and successful academic semester.

The GES remains committed to providing quality education and supportive services to all stakeholders, and this revised reopening date is a testament to their dedication to academic excellence.
