Finance Minister to present 2025 budget on March 11.

The 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy is scheduled to be presented to Parliament on March 11, 2025.

This presentation aligns with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution, which mandates the submission of the national budget.

The announcement was made during the presentation of the Business Statement for the ninth week ending Friday, March 14. Members of Parliament (MPs) are encouraged to prioritize the session and ensure their attendance.

A post-budget workshop will be organized for all MPs, with details regarding the venue and schedule to be communicated in due course.

The 2025 budget is anticipated to outline comprehensive economic data and present strategic initiatives aimed at advancing economic transformation. The budget is expected to reflect recommendations from the National Economic Dialogue held on March 3 and 4, 2025.

The current economic situation has been described as severe, with the budget expected to address this challenge.

The Cabinet meeting focused on setting performance benchmarks for ministers, with discussions encompassing security briefings, economic rollout plans, agricultural transformation strategies, and the overall economic outlook.

Seven ministers are scheduled to respond to 30 questions in Parliament during the upcoming week, representing various portfolios.

The House will also convene a Committee of the Whole Meeting to engage with the Government Statistician on statistical products, focusing on digital platforms.

The 2025 budget is expected to be a crucial policy document outlining measures to address economic challenges while setting the foundation for long-term growth and development.
